Lower Valley El Paso
Bodies of water are scarce in the desert, but that’s not a problem for residents living in the lower valley. Ascarate Park, the largest public-use recreational park in El Paso County, features a man-made lake that spans 48 surface acres. Park patrons can take in the sights with a canoe or paddleboat ride on the lake, or stroll along the lakeside boardwalk. Ascarate Park goers can also enjoy a picnic in the grass or a game on the 18-hole 72-par golf course. Also in the lower valley is EPCC’s Valle Verde campus, the first of the college’s five campuses. Homes in the lower valley are some of the most affordable in the city.
